ROSALIND PARK TOWN CENTRE
The Rosalind Park Town Centre, designed by Brewster Murray, embodies a harmonious blend of heritage and innovation that celebrates the enduring spirit of the local rural community.
Restorations and enhancements of the original Federation-era house will ensure the rural heritage of the local area is preserved. Similarly, preservation of the existing gardens and historic plantings will provide an appropriate landscaped setting to the architectural heritage.
Extensions to existing buildings will also introduce new uses to the site, offering hospitality seating along panoramic views, bridging the gap between the enclosed historic environment and expansive rural landscape.
A pivotal feature of the town centre is the use of locally sourced sandstone, which not only reinforces the connection to the local environment but also provides a material link between old and new structures. This choice underscores a commitment to sustainability and respect for local resources, anchoring the site firmly within its geographical and historical context.
The newly proposed community tavern is designed to be a versatile space that caters to a variety of events, from formal gatherings to casual get-togethers. It offers expansive indoor and outdoor areas that are adaptable and welcoming, designed to foster community interaction and engagement.
